Water reuse from food ingredients production

The Client is a global leader in the development, production and marketing of yeast, bacteria and specialty ingredients. Today, the company is present through plants, distribution centers or representation offices on all 5 continents and 40 countries.

Customer’s needs
The Client aims to reduce the waste water disposal volumes of the effluent produced by the yeast production and the relevant costs further than aligning the waste water management with the environmentally-friendly approach that distinguishes the whole company.

The solution provided
To achieve this goal the solution provided consists of an evaporator  RV F 60, with a distillate production capacity of 60 ton/day and a footprint of 10.5 m2.
EVALED® RV F is the line of mechanical recompression evaporators designed to reach the highest level of reliability in heat transfer, with minimum impact in terms of fouling and scaling.
High efficiency forced circulation shell & tube heat exchanger with horizontal tubes allows wastewater concentration up to the salts solubility limits and to manage also suspended crystals.

The solution achieved

  • water reuse: 86%
  • new different opportunity for the concentrate

After this first success, the client chose the same solution for another production plant in Canada.
