Customer
The company is a car manufacturer producing engines in Slovakia. They produce gasoline engines by five production lines, four metal cutting lines and one assembly line.

Customer needs
Disposal of huge not dischargeable oily waste water is one important issue that the company has set out to exploit.
The goal of the customer was the reduction of the oily waste water disposal costs.
To improve the environmental impact and reduce the total amount of CO2 produced in their plants, they need to exploit the energy content of the oil fraction.

The solution provided

Exausted oil emulsion

The inlet waste consist in two flows:

  • exhausted oil emulsion from different machine tools
  • water deriving from parts washing or other oil-polluted washing water.

These flows are sent to a physical coalescer for the separation of a light floating part (tramp oil) and a clear emulsion. The EVALED® TC 30000 treats about 10000 m3/y of this oil emulsion with a distillation yield of about 93% in distillate.
The distillate is sent to a ultra filtration plant for the final polishing and then it is discharged into the public sewer.
The concentrate with oil and surfactants is periodically collected and sent to the incineration plant.

Results and Benefits

The proposed solution to the customer with the EVALED® technology has allowed the reduction of over 20 times the volume sent for disposal. The exploitation of oil concentrate as fuel for the high calorific value has reduced the impact on the amount of CO2 produced.
